Is Hyperpronation More Effective Than Supination for Reduction of a Radial Head Subluxation?

Nine trials of 906 children (mean age 2 years) were reviewed in regard to radial head subluxation. Five trials had been newly identified since the previous Cochrane review. Of these, 8 studies with 811 participants specifically compared hyperpronation (n=402) versus the supination (n=409) technique, whereas the ninth compared supination-flexion with supination-extension. The included studies were deemed to be at high risk of bias, with all 9 trials subject to performance and detection bias because of inability to blind participants.
