Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Associated With Influenza A Infection.

Bacterial superinfection is a known complication of influenza infection, with Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus often being the offending pathogens. In recent decades, there has been an increased prevalence of superinfection with Aspergillus in seemingly immunocompetent hosts.
