Abstract
Mesalamine is used as the first-line therapy for ulcerative colitis (UC). Although the exacerbation of symptoms of UC can occur in 2-4% of patients who are administered mesalamine (1-3), endoscopic features of the patients with this type of adverse events have rarely been reported. We show the colonoscopic findings of three patients who received mesalamine and manifested severe exacerbation of symptoms of UC.
