Our cover features a packing diagram representing the structure of the Yellow Fever viral epitope HLA-A*02:01-LLWNPGMAV. Each asymmetric unit contains two copies of the HLA molecule (blue or yellow), with the peptide shown in stick model (green or brown). The image is taken from Bovay et al. (pp 258–272), who reveal that the immunodominant epitope of the Yellow Fever Virus is recognized by a highly biased T Cell Receptor (TCR) repertoire. A combination of X-ray crystallography and molecular modeling of the interactions between the TCR and the peptide-HLA-A2 complex provides new insight into the unusual high precursor frequency, prevalence and immunodominance of TRAV12-2 containing TCRs.
