Abstract
We read with interest the paper by Bussler et al. providing new age‐ and sex‐related percentiles for alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase, and γ‐glutamyltransferase in children between 11 months and 16 years (1). Although the potential relevance of the paper is high, its practical significance is, however, markedly diminished because the analytical aspects of the enzyme measurements were not appropriately described by the authors. This shortcoming does not permit universal application of the results of this study.
