Unusual re‐intervention via a fistula for the ampullary penetration of a plastic stent in malignant distal biliary obstruction

Abstract

Endoscopic biliary stenting is a well‐established procedure for malignant distal biliary obstruction. A plastic stent (PS) is frequently used because of its low cost and ease of deployment; however, it may occasionally get dislocated. We herein report a case with unique dislocation of PS and describe the deployment of a new PS via the fistula.
