The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a research‐intensive university located in the heart of South East Asia. This special issue of Advanced Materials highlights research activities focused on materials science and engineering currently being pursued at NUS. Through outstanding contributions from NUS's research community, this issue presents a multidisciplinary focus on the engineering of functional inorganic, organic, and polymeric nanomaterials, for applications in biomedicine, wearable electronics, photonics, energy, and environmental sustainability.
