To the Editor—The recent correspondence by Kumar and colleagues [1] detailing the isolation of Escherichia coli carrying bla_NDM-16 (New-Delhi metallo β-lactamase) and mcr-1 (mobile colistin resistance-1) is further evidence that the era of pan-resistant strains is rapidly approaching. However, the article contains 2 erroneous conclusions that only serve to increase confusion for readers.
