The first human application of flexible 3D endoscope for gastrointestinal ESD

Abstract

Over decades ago, rigid laparoscopy instrumented with 3‐dimmentional (3D) view was introduced in minimally invasive surgery. Since then, there has been an advancement in the stereoscopic technology with implement of higher resolution and illumination^1,2. With use of special glasses, modern 3D technology allows the addition of depth perception to 2D images taken with twin lenses and displayed on a 2D monitor².
