Better too big than too small?

We read great interest the article by Martins et al,1 "Metal versus plastic stents for anastomotic biliary stricture after liver transplantation: a randomized control trial." The authors concluded that covered self-expandable metal stents (cSEMSs) were comparable with multiple plastic stents (MPSs) for resolution of postorthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) biliary anastomotic stricture. Biliary anastomotic stricture is the most frequent adverse event after OLT, and several studies have been published about the superiority of cSEMSs over MPSs regarding the number of procedures.
