More Evidence to Help Guide Decision Making About Aspirin for Primary Prevention

Defining the role of aspirin in the primary prevention of cardiovascular events is challenging because of the close balance between benefits and harms. This commentary discusses the results of 2 large trials, 1 in healthy older adults and 1 in middle-aged and older adults with diabetes, that provide information to assist in decision making regarding the use of aspirin in patients without a history of cardiovascular disease.
