Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the U.S. and an estimated 11-46% of stroke patients have a large vessel occlusion (LVO). LVOs are associated with increased disability and mortality, particularly when the preferred treatment, mechanical thrombectomy (MT), is delayed.
