308 Timeliness of Inter-Facility Transfer for Patients With Acute Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke

Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the U.S. and an estimated 11-46% of stroke patients have a large vessel occlusion (LVO). LVOs are associated with increased disability and mortality, particularly when the preferred treatment, mechanical thrombectomy (MT), is delayed. A delay as short as 15 minutes can impact both morbidity and mortality in acute ischemic stroke, and delays diminish both MT effectiveness and potential eligibility for MT.
