Electronic Skin: Imperceptible Epidermal–Iontronic Interface for Wearable Sensing (Adv. Mater. 6/2018)

In article number 1705122, Tingrui Pan and co-workers introduce an epidermal-iontronic interface (EII) for wearable pressure sensing. Utilizing both single-sided iontronic devices and the skin as the sensing architectures, the EII sensor offers ultrathin, flexible, and imperceptible packaging with conformal epidermal contact. Monitoring of various vital signals is demonstrated for both internal (body) and external (environmental) mechanical stimuli.
