Tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes and morphogenesis of follicular lymphoma—reply

We thank Dr. Ree and colleagues for their interesting comment about our recent data about the favorable influence of CD3+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in follicular lymphoma (FL) patients [1]. They raised the question as to whether CD3+ TILs were free, directly in contact with tumor cells, or if they remain in and around vessels. In the latter case, they would suggest that postcapillary venules (PCVs), holding small lymphocytes in the endothelial wall and lumen could be involved in a putative T-zone attempt to contain B-cell neoplasm in a follicular and less aggressive state.
