Advanced multi-modal methods for cranial pseudo-CT generation validated by IMRT and VMAT radiation therapy plans

Two sets of pseudo-CTs were generated for 15 patients by two novel algorithms from T1w and T2w MRI. The pseudo-CTs were compared to ground truth clinical CTs by MAE, bias and DICE coefficient. Dose calculations were performed on both the pseudo-CTs and clinical CTs and compared by gamma test, DVH and iso center dose. The algorithms produced pseudo-CTs of very competitive quality compared to other published methods and the dose calculations were in good agreement.
