Abstract
Neural invasion (NI) is one way of cancer spreading, and it is now considered a poor prognostic factor across the gastrointestinal tract malignancies including gastric cancer (GC).1, 2 NI occurs frequently and with greater severity in cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic cancer in particular, which may contribute to the dismal prognoses in these cancers.1 In the stomach, the nerve plexuses are concentrated in Meissner's plexus in the submucosa and Auerbach's plexus between the circular and longitudinal fibers of the muscularis propria.
