The Impact of Graduates’ Job Preferences on the Current Radiation Oncology Job Market

In this survey of radiation oncology graduates' applications patterns and personal preferences, we found recent graduates demonstrate a strong preference to work in large cities (>500,000) and less interest in practicing in the Midwest (MW). Those with ties to the MW (residency training, medical schooling, raised in the MW) chose to practice in the MW less frequently than those with ties to other regions, which may contribute to job market concerns/disparity.
