Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy Treated With CMX001 in a Non-Human Immunodeficiency Virus Patient After Rituximab Therapy for Lymphoma: A Case Report.

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy is an opportunistic infection well described in non-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients receiving rituximab in whom it is associated with high mortality. Although immune reconstitution contributes the most to recovery in HIV-positive patients, no viable treatment option exists for non-HIV patients. We describe a case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in a patient who received rituximab, treated with the investigational agent CMX001. Copyright (C) 2017 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc.
