Argon Plasma Coagulation for Successful Fragmentation and Removal of an Over-The-Scope Clip (OTSC)

Abstract

The over-the-scope-clip (OTSC) (Ovesco Endoscopy, Tübingen, Germany) is a revolutionary endoscopic tool for management of fistulas, perforations, and leaks [1]. Removal of an OTSC is rare and oftentimes challenging. We describe a simple and reproducible technique utilizing argon plasma coagulation (APC) to fracture the OTSC hinge to facilitate extraction.
