Achievements and Challenges for Our Society’s Journal

This will be my final editorial as Editor-in-Chief of Biophysical Journal (BJ), as my five-year term ends on June 30. I will take this opportunity to review how the quality and vitality of our journal have been enhanced during this period, and to briefly reflect on the continuing challenges to be met by my successor, Jane Dyson, in the face of a shifting scientific publishing landscape. Overall, I am extremely gratified every time I receive a new Table of Contents and peruse the exciting and diverse science appearing in our journal.
