Photoluminescence: Integrated Freestanding Two-dimensional Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (Adv. Mater. 18/2017)

The front cover illustrates the concept of integrated freestanding monolayer (1-L) of two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), as described in article number 1700308 by Gilles Lerondel and co-workers. Very bright emission is achieved thanks to the absence of stress over the whole flake as a result of very limited point contacts between the TMDs monolayer and the ZnO nanorods used here as a support.
