In article number 1700243, Naam-Joon Cho and co-workers develop a mechanically tunable substrate for cell adhesion studies. Single cell adhesion on extracellular matrix protein functionalized lipid bilayer is depicted to introduce a new method to evaluate cell-substrate interaction on low rigidity substrates, which closely mimic the physiological environment. In this particular case, a unique reorganization of the ECM protein is characterized with cell adhesion on the experimental platform.
