Three-Fraction Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (Apbi) Delivered With Brachytherapy Applicators Is Feasible And Safe : First Results From The Triumph-T Trial

Intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) for early stage breast cancer offers convenience but is prolematized by a lack of post-pathology patient selection. We report preliminary results from a novel fractionation scheme that condenses accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) to 2 or 3 days. The treatment as delivered is well tolerated with low toxicity. This mimics the convenience of IORT without its limitations.
