Abstract
Gastrointestinal bleeding that originates in the small intestine is often difficult to diagnose. Double‐balloon enteroscopy (DBE) is increasingly used for the diagnosis and/or therapy of obscure overt/occult gastrointestinal bleeding, including arteriovenous malformation (AVM). However, as AVM of the small bowel is rare and may appear on DBE as a small blueish protruding lesion or reddish patch, its diagnosis poses a challenge for clinicians. In this video, we show a case where we could identify an AVM with distinctive endoscopic appearance of a large submucosal tumor (SMT) ‐like elevated lesion as a bleeding source on preoperative DBE.
