We appreciate your interest in our viewpoint. We fully agree that patient-reported outcomes (PROs) for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) can and should be assessed in clinical practice for reasons you outlined; we do not advocate for any delay in doing so. In our publication, we encouraged the adoption of PROs to comprehensively assess the patient experience and we cited examples of easy-to-use PRO instruments including the IBD-Disk.1 Although we share your enthusiasm for PROs, we acknowledge the realistic challenges that accompany process change in clinical practice.
