Born too early for friends?

Beyond education, socialization is a primary goal of childhood education. One can even argue that socialization is the job of childhood, as that socialization will determine how the child once adult will relate to life. Children born very premature are known to be at risk for poor social adjustment, but are all children born preterm at a higher risk of fewer friendships and thus impaired socialization?
