An Unusual Cause of Abdominal Pain

A 12-year-old girl was admitted with a 48-hour history of acute abdominal pain and vomiting. She had no significant past medical history. The abdominal pain was located in the right upper quadrant. On examination, the right hypochondrium was tender, but no mass was palpated. She was afebrile. Laboratory data showed a normal blood count, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase levels 2-fold elevated, and increased C-reactive protein (86 mg/L). Ultrasonography showed an ovoid hypoechoic subhepatic 45 × 35 mm mass located near the left lobe of the liver.
