Lung Transplant Candidates on Extracorporeal Support

We read with great interest the review about ICU care before and after lung transplantation (LTx) by Fuehner et al.1 The authors suggest irreversible extrapulmonary organ failure, septic shock, severe arterial occlusive disease, and not being previously listed as specific contraindications for bridge to transplantation (BTT) with extracorporeal life support (ECLS).
