The Gift of Spirituality

In keeping with the theme of seasons, in the month of December we mark the winter solstice, which, according to the astronomical calendar, is the first day of winter. Occurring on December 22, just 3 days prior to Christmas, the winter solstice is deemed the shortest day of the year, when the sun reaches the southernmost part of the celestial equator and the North Pole is tilted farthest away from the sun. Around the world, the winter solstice will occur on different days and times, as is the case with the winter holidays.
